Story
At the end of August, Chris and I will be cycling the 300 miles from London to Brussels for the Canal & River Trust. Not one to shy away from a challenge, I thought this seems like something I can do. I mean its flat in Amsterdam, is it not? What's 91 miles in the first day? We have cycled from Skipton to Leeds along the towpath, it was a cinch, only a few days of a sore bum a few hand blisters. Ok, so the enormity of the event has hit us now, but we cant back out.
So whats the challenge and why? Onthe 1st of July, the Canal & River Trust launched and we need your money. They preserve and enhance the waterways across England & Wales which provide some of you with a safe cycle path to work, or a nicer commute than the busy roads, perhaps you take your children to feed the ducks or to look at the other wildlife along your local bumble bee and butterfly motorway, I know that many of you use it as your usual running training route as well. With your support this new charity can continue to manage and improve the canal network so that this historic wildlife corridor is there for generations to come.
Chris and I will be setting off from our HQ at Paddington on August 31st and heading out to Harwich on the coast, (91 miles). Day 2 we cycle from the Hook of Holland to Amsterdam. Day 3 we carry on from Amsterdam to Breda in Belgium. Finally on Day 4 we end our tour in Brussels. All of the trips cost including travel and accomodation has been met by our corporate sponsors, so every penny that you donate will go directly to the Canal & River Trust.
So please dig deep and donate now.
