Hello everyone,
Welcome to our Just Giving page! This has been set up so that people who say they're going to sponsor us do actually end up sponsoring us and not forgetting, moving, being declared bankrupt or dying.
We're running for Rainbow Trust Children's Charity, a fantastically worthy charity who help provide support for sick kids and their families. C
Quite frankly the thought of raising £2,000 each terrifies us way more than running 26.2 miles, so please give us every spare pound you can afford.
This time last year Mike decided to go for a mile run and couldn't walk downstairs for 3 days afterwards. Andrew is 40 (technically defined as "veteran" by the Olympic Committee). Lee was supporting a friend during the 2006 marathon and at mile 22 a guy hobbled past with 1 arm and 1 prosthetic leg. At the time Lee was unfit, smoked and weighed about 17 stone naked (not a pretty sight). This guy's effort stuck with him and now 4 years later he doesn't smoke, has lost 5 stone and is running the 26.2 miles himself.
So training for this marathon has been quite a challenge! We're all hoping not only to finish but to do it under 4 hours. This may prove delusionally optimistic.
Many thanks,
Mike, Andrew and Lee
