Zurich Community Trust (UK) Limited is the community arm of Zurich and is a registered charity in its own right. Our aim is to support the most disadvantaged people in our communities and help them live more independent and fulfilling lives..

Story

On July 1st Nick Mundy, Martin White, Steve Gooch, Alex Wilmer, Mark Easy, Pete Garnett, Chris Davidson, Darren Bailey, Andrew Bisping, Scott McArdle and Tim Astley will join 5000 other cyclists taking part in the London to Canterbury Cyclosportive event. This 120 mile ride will trace the official stage one route of the Tour De France 2007, which will be ridden by the pro's just one week later.

Our cause

All the money that we raise through sponsorship will go to Zurich Community Trust's 'Gear Change' project. This project is being run by Zurich staff in partnership with Fairbridge West Midlands. The aim of the Gear Change project is to provide a focused programme of learning for a small group of disadvantaged young people in the West Midlands, teaching the participants how to recondition/build a bicycle, maintain it and ride it safely. Each young person will get to keep the bike and take part in an end of programme group bicycle ride. Our goal is simple: to give these young people the motivation, confidence and skills they need to change their own lives.

Fairbridge is a national charity that offers young people long-term personal support and challenging activities in 15 of the most disadvantaged areas across the UK.

Thank you for visiting our fund-raising page, please sponsor us online today and help change a young persons life.
