My story

 

Archie, my eldest son now nearly 5 years old has Cerebral Palsy and can't walk independently despite 4 years of intensive physiotherapy.  We have recently looked into a procedure called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy, where a vertebrae is removed to expose the spinal cord and some of the sensory nerves are cut, which permanently reduces the stiffness in the legs.  It is this stiffness which is preventing Archie from walking.   So we are intending to head out to St Louis Missouri for what we hope will be  be a completely life changing operation for Archie, and hope to raise some funds to go towards the £50,000 cost of the surgery.   If you would like to look at Archie's fund raising page you can go to http://www.operationarchie.com/.
