Absolutely unbelievable. ...
Most of you are all aware that our great friend and a great man David 'Jnr HEB' Hepburn has been fighting his illness for some time, he has never complained and has continued to show courage beyond belief. The man of steel has beaten two major operations and refuses to allow two brain tumours preventing him from living.
David this week took very poorly after his ninth seizure. He has once again amazed medical staff, we are all aware and David should not have survived this long - But he has and we are making sure he fights this illness as long as possible. David has today left Rake Lane hospital and is now back at the utterly remarkable St Oswald's Hospice, David has expressed this is where he wants to spend his last days or hopefully weeks/months.
David has been a true friend to so many, a fantastic father to his girls and family man to his unbelievable family.
'Heb's Posse' as we have now become known as, want to repay some gratitude to St Oswald's Hospice, whatever we can do will never match the love and comfort they have shown to David over this difficult time. David is so tired now, he has defied medical belief with his determination and fight. Those who know David expect this, but even those close are still amazed.
You will all be aware that we have taken to the icy North Sea on Saturday just gone, we raised over £350.00 alone by people taking part and well wishers. This was followed up with a Charity Evening at Cramlington Village Club where the evening had over 100 people who were just amazing, a huge thank you again to the Committee who moved heaven and earth to accommodate after the previous bar cancelled the venue with two weeks to go.
We are now trying to 'Raise a round figure f £12000'.... We have already asked so much of you, but for this man and for St Oswald's i will continue to ask.
PLEASE IF YOU CAN, EVEN A SMALL DONATION - GIVING = HELPING .
David has also given his story to the Sunday Sun, this will help highlight the excellent work St Oswald's have done not only for David but others similar. There has now been two articles and a third will be completed at a future date once all the events have been completed.
You will be aware we have totally blown our target of £3000 and as always we The Posse are continuing with the challenge to get as much for St Oswald's as we can. We have two weeks left and we are going to do our utmost to raise the £12000.00
Please back David, back us and let us all thank St Oswald's Hospice.
Thank you all for your support.
