We made it to the top!!! I can't tell you what difference it made knowing we had so much support when we were struggling for breath and feeling dizzy and disorientated on our way up to the summit.

After 4 long, glorious days of trekking where we passed through rainforest, Alpine dessert, lava towers, rock walls and glaciers we were then confronted with the real challenge. Starting out at midnight we walked from 4600 metres up to 5895 metres. Add sleep deprivation, to lack of oxygen and freezing temperatures, and you have a pretty heady mix!! But it was so worth it. We really did feel on top of the world as we watched the sunrise through the clouds, lighting up the glaciers and the mountain which peaked through the clouds around us.

Millie was with us every step of the way, as believe it or not there is mobile signal at various points! She really did give us the strength to carry on when we felt like giving up.
