Story

The parish church of St Mary the Virgin and St Mary Magdalen is a highlight of Tetbury, and is visited by many sight-seers each year, both from the UK and abroad.
Upon entering the main part of the church, most visitors are struck by the awe-inspiring East Window, which depicts a fine representation of the last supper. This window was installed in 1868, and was designed by Wailes of Newcastle, and by Clayton and Bell. However, after 140 years, it is showing its age and is in need of some urgent repairs.
Conservation of this and the other stained glass windows, which are such a significant part of this iconic building, is needed to preserve our heritage for the future generations in Tetbury.
This work is expected to cost around £85,000. The parish is applying for grant aid, but also needs to raise as much money as possible from donations. Time is short; we need to complete the work in the first half of 2012, so we need to raise funds by the end of this year.
Donating through this site is simple, fast, and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to help us and, if you are a UK taxpayer we will be able to claim an extra 25% with your gift at no additional cost to you.
