Story

Hello! (Please read the entire story!)

We guess if you've found our little page, you already know why you're here. Basically, we have decided to climb Mt Kilamanjaro in August 2012 (2nd - 13th) via the Machame Route, and we need your help to raise the funds to do it! Of course all of the money will go to Scope. We're in a race against time to organise as much as we can, get your support, and raise 10,000 by August 2012!

To do this, we have arranged a number of events you can help out/participate with!

Sing-a-long-a Sound of Music (May 6th 2012, The Corn Exchange)

The smash-hit musical show that has been all around the world and is now back in Newbury!! So get those vocal chords warmed up, cut up those chintz curtains and hurry down for the perfect night out. Fancy dress is not obligatory but highly recommended!

For those of you not yet converted, Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music is a screening of the classic Julie Andrews film musical in glorious, full-screen technicolor, complete with subtitles so that the whole audience can sing along! Then of course there is the famous fancy-dress competition in which everyone who has come in costume is invited onto the stage to show off their fantastic tailoring skills.

It's a really good cause, helping the disabled and their families through practical assistance, campaigns and wider education... Mt K is one of the many that they organise, and we would love - and need - your support to help these people.

None of us are practical climbers, and at least 50% don't really even know what the gym is - so if anything, do it just for the hilarity of watching us struggle!

If you do give money, please say who you are donating to and if a taxpayer, don't be afraid to tick the 'Gift aid' box - we get an extra 28% of what you pay.... at no extra cost to you! Again, unless it is to the group generally, please label who your donation is to so we can see who is pulling their weight on the fundraising!

Thank you for your support!
