We are fundraising for the Childrens hand and upper limb service
This is our story.........
Seb and Jess LOVE music with a passion. They play with the National Childrens Orchestra of Great Britain and study at Birmingham Junior Conservatoire. Their musical path began when they were 4 where they used to sit side by side and bash away on the piano. However when he was 6, Seb fell over whilst rushing to show his mum something he had learnt and he severed both tendons in his index finger of his left hand. He subsequently was put in the care of Birmingham Childrens Hospital where he had 5 operations including a complete tendon reconstruction where a tendon was removed from his wrist and put into his hand. Weeks off school, months of physio and even now he only has partial bend in his finger. Without Birmingham Childrens Hospital and the skills of his surgeon Andrea Jester, he would have no bend at all and would not be able to play music at all. His twin sister Jessica would always visit and support him in his months of being unable to do any activities in case the new tendon snapped.
Both children now feel they want to share their musical talents and do something in return for the amazing care and treatment they gave to Seb and have decided to play their instruments for 24 hours with one or other of them playing the entire time. Please support them in any way you can.
