We provide mental health treatment to veterans from every service and conflict

Story

We can train for war, but nobody can ever prepare us for what it does to our minds.

Thats me in 'Bomb Allley' on a Pilgrimage returning to the Falkland Islands 25 years after I went to war as an 18 Year Old Sailor on HMS Fearless in 1982. Combat Stress helped fund that trip and I want to give something back for their help.

San Carlos Water is where we were attacked and bombed while at anchor for 10 days solid! I saw many ships hit, one blow up very close by and friends and shipmates were injured or killed. The images, the noise and smells are burnt into my mind for the rest of my days.

Myself and a group of friends are doing this ride to help those that need all of our help to support them through difficult times in the future. So if you have been guided to this page by a friend, please sponsor them on here, it is a team effort and the money they raise through your support will go the right charity.

I hope the RAF don't do any low flying runs through the Lakes during my ride - bit hard hitting the deck from a bike!!!

THANK YOU for Your support!

The Lakes Challenge

3 DAYS

 150 MILES

4 PASSES - 5,288ft Hardknott, Wrynose, Kirkstone, Honister

7 LAKES   - Wastwater, Coniston, Windermere, Ullswater, Derwent Water, Buttermere and Crummock Water

This route would be challenging for the most experience cyclists, but for a bunch of ex - servicemen and their mates in their late 30's - 40's who still believe they are still as fit, healthy and able to do anything that they did in their early years, it is going to be hell on earth! Oh! And we're camping out overnight as well!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
