My story

A full-scale food disaster has hit Niger, West Africa. And people with leprosy are most at risk.

Last year’s harvest was poor so food is scarce. Low rainfall this year means the next harvest could be worse yet. Food prices are beyond what most can afford. That means gnawing, painful hunger - especially for the young. More people go hungry every day. Children face starvation, even death. And the poorest of the poor are people with leprosy & their children. Discrimination & disabilities make work hard to find. With those they depend on for alms also going hungry, there are no options left. Their only hope is the generosity of people like you.

You can make such a difference for so little. £32 will feed a family of six for a whole month - just about a pound a day - or £350 will feed an entire community. Any gift, small or large, will save lives. Better yet, your gift will not only supply emergency food now, but also help these families to become self-sufficient.

Most people are ignoring this growing disaster. They don’t want to hear about the suffering of the people in Niger or the terrible situation of those with leprosy. But we thank God you are different. You’ve shown your compassion before, and we believe you can and will help again today.

As Scripture says, “Whoever is kind to the needy honours God.” (Proverbs 14:31).

We're praying you’ll respond as quickly and generously as you can. Thank you for standing alongside people with leprosy.
