Lawrence's Son, Brothers, Nephews, Cousins and Closest friends are going "Coast to Coast….” 140 Miles, 3 Days and 17 men of dubious fitness.
From September 1st - 3rd 2011, "The Regiment" are cycling from Whitehaven to Whitley Bay to raise money for Cransley Hospice in memory of Lawrence Callaghan who sadly passed away in January from cancer.
Cransley not only provided Lawrence with an amazing level of dignity, care and comfort in his last days, but also empathy and compassion to his family and friends through such difficult times. Whilst within the NHS, Cransley Hospice has to rely heavily on charitable donations in order to provide its exceptional level of care within the Hospice itself and also support for MacMillan nurses, helping patients and families both in local hospitals and their own homes. In recognition of this The Regiment is setting out to raise £3000 In Lawrence’s memory - just a drop in ocean against the £550,000 required to run Cransley every year, but a worthy cause, close to our hearts and in tribute to a man who will be missed over every mile of our journey and beyond. You will be able follow the progress of "The Regiment" here with occasional training and preparation updates, including photos, videos and a blog. Then form the event start date a daily blog an update will be put live here on the site.
