Later this summer one Edinburgh-based and four Canada-based adventurers are undertaking the Mongol Rally in a second hand ambulance. If we and the vehicle make it to our destination in one piece, the ambulance will be donated to the Mongolian authorities.

That's 10,000 miles through Europe, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan en route to the finish line in Mongolia.

For large parts of the route, roads will be a luxury. That's why we've called ourselves The Ambeciles. There are much more sensible things that you could do with an S Reg ambulance bought on E-Bay.

Whilst feeding the hungry beasts that are our mid-life crises we're also trying to raise as much money for worthy causes as we can.

The Edinburgh end of this project has chosen to support The Sick Kids Friends Foundation. As a parent whose child has been treated at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children I've seen at first hand the amazing care that the the hospital provides. I can't think of a better cause to be supporting.

Please click a little further and make a donation.

Thanks ever so for your support.
