<p>&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: Calibri;">Mike Carter is attempting his first marathon this year at the Melbourne Marathon on 9th October 2011.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">"I am taking part in this race in memory of a great friend and fellow runner, Andy Shaw who passed away suddenly in June at the far too young age of 44. His wonderful wife, Rachel has set up The Andy Shaw Foundation, which will raise much needed funds primarily for Christie's and The HoneyRose Foundation. Therefore I am asking you if you could please sponsor me to complete the huge challenge of the Marathon and in doing so help these great causes in Andy's memory."</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">I can't express how overwhelmed I am for Mike to dedicate his marathon to Andy, It is such an amazing thing to do. It was the first UK centre to be officially accredited as a comprehensive cancer centre. The current intention is that the primary beneficiary charities will be The Christie and The Honey Rose Foundation. &nbsp;&nbsp;<br> <br> No targets have been set for the Foundation, please just give whatever you think appropriate.<br> <br> Please remember the gift aid declaration &ndash; it really does make a difference.</span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
