We are all taking part in the University Munro Challenge 2013

The Munro Challenge aim is to put as many University representatives on top of as many of Scotland's 282 Munros as possible, throughout the holiday weekend in May 2013.

We are climbing two Munros (Buachaille Etive Beag - Stob Coire and Stob Dubh) to raise funds for the The Beatson Pebble Appeal on Saturday 25th May 2013. The Munros peaks at 3143 feet

Upon reaching these peaks you will have photographic evidence that we are “Going Bananas for Beatson”.

We will be raising funds for The Beatson Pebble Appeal through the University of Glasgow trust. The Beatson Pebble Appeal is a £10m campaign to raise funds to build the Beatson Translational Cancer Research Centre (TCRC). The centre is purpose designed and built to accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries into improved outcomes for people affected by cancer and to help define the key research questions of the future. The Beatson Pebble Appeal has recently reached their £10M target to fund the building project but their fundraising will continue to provide support for staffing and equipment within the new centre. The TCRC is the final piece of the overarching strategy of cancer research and care in Glasgow. Through the provision of the most up-to-date facilities and equipment the aim is to attract world-class cancer research scientists to join our team to help drive the vital work.
