ONE CHILD DIES EVERY 20 SECONDS FROM DIARRHOEA CAUSED BY UNCLEAN WATER & SANITATION
“We have taken on the unusual challenge put to us by The Body Shop Foundation (TBSF) to trek over 100km through the Sahara Desert over five days in order to raise vital funds for TBSF. TBSF will allocate the monies raised to small, worthwhile and vital water charities around the world.
As we will be trekking in intense heat without any mobile phone contact, access to flushing toilets, make up, shampoo and only a bowl to wash in daily, we can assure you we will both find this venture particularly challenging!
Please dig deep and sponsor us for this hugely worthwhile cause. Our joint target is £5,000.
Many thanks
Zoe & Chris”

The Body Shop Foundation (TBSF) is The Body Shop International Plc’s charitable trust which supports innovative projects across the world working for social & environmental change.
TBSF is funded by an annual donation from the company and through various fundraising initiatives.
Approximately 65% of the grants that they fund come from nominations from the staff, consultants or franchisees attached to the company – from all over the world.
The remaining projects they fund are researched by their own trustees and grants department.
To date, they’ve funded over 2,500 global projects to the tune of £18.3 million.
They’ve supported a wide variety of projects since they began in 1989, but have always stayed true to three main areas, namely:
- Animal Protection
- Human Rights
- Environmental Protection
