Story

As many of you know, Dan has brain cancer (Glioblastoma Grade 4) and while he has surpassed his life expectancy, one of his wishes is to raise over £10k for this charity so he can have a seat at the table to decide where any future funds are placed.  Now wouldn't this be great if we could achieve this while he was still alive.  I've achieved so many milestone and happy memories for our children to cherish and would love the opportunity to help him achieve his goal.

Wherever you are and whatever you're doing on Friday 6 March, make sure you're helping to make it the biggest Bandanas for Brain Tumours day ever.

The Bandanas for Brain Tumours mission is to raise funds to accelerate the pace of ground-breaking research that can save lives now.

The facts

- Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under 40.

- Over 8,500 people are diagnosed every year with a primary brain tumour, including 500 children. As many brain tumours are not recorded, the figure could be much higher in reality.

- Brain tumours reduce life expectancy by, on average, 20 years – the highest of any cancer.

- Over £500 million is spent on cancer research in the UK every year, yet less than 2% is spent on brain tumours.

The solution

We are committed to having the biggest possible impact for every person affected by a brain tumour, to defending the most amazing part of the human body, so that getting the diagnosis of a brain tumour no longer means a death sentence.

We believe that fighting brain tumours on all fronts through research, awareness and support is the only way to save lives, reduce long term disabilities and help everyone with a brain tumour and their families cope with everything that the diagnosis of a brain tumour brings.
