I did this last year (getting onto the event late) and swore I would do it again as soon as possible AND get the fundraising ball rolling ASAP.
A long distance charity ride was something that I had always wanted to do and considered the 2009 event a real challenge (and it was) ; i'll consider this 2010 ride as my lap-of-honour .
Initially I was planning on doing the North Clockwise route but when they brought the start times forward I changed my mind and opted for the anti-clockwise route again...i just did not want to be riding down the A1 at night...

A little bit about Iron Butt:
The Iron Butt Association is dedicated to safe, long-distance, endurance motorcycle riding. Although based in the United States, they have over 24,000+ members world-wide. The Iron Butt Association (IBA) does not have membership in the traditional sense. The IBA is a little more loose knit organization than most clubs. Generally speaking there are several ways to earn membership. One of the most common methods of entry into the IBA is to complete one of the rides they sponsor, such as the “Saddlesore 1000” (1000 miles in less than 24 hours).

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Royal British Legion gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
