<p><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; color: black; font-family: Arial;">The TRC is the original charity dedicated to the welfare, re-training and re-homing of thoroughbred ex-racehorses.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; color: black; font-family: Arial;">Over 5000 horses leave racing and training each year; some may have reached the natural end of their career, others due to lack of ability or an injury which prevents them from racing again.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; color: black; font-family: Arial;">The TRC is dedicated to securing a safe future and appropriate post-racing career for theses horses where their welfare will be monitored for the remainder of their lifetime.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; color: black; font-family: Arial;">Horses are gifted to the centre direct from racing, training or from members of the public. A meticulous programme of assessment, treatment and re-training may take several months to years dependent on each horse's specific needs. The Centre never sells a horse, they are very carefully matched to a loan home which we hope will be lifelong, however to ensure the welfare of each horse is paramount, they are able to return to the centre should the need arise.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; color: black; font-family: Arial;">The running costs for the centre stand at around £1500 per day and we rely heavily on public support.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></p>
