I'M A MARATHON FINISHER!
6 hours and 1 minute. Painful ankle from mile 11. Great company from Kristie (Orlando) and Marty (Cincinnati) who I ran with in the second half of the race. HUGE smile at finish line!
Thanks everyone for your support and sponsorship.

NEWSFLASH!
Completed my last long training run this weekend - 20 miles of sheer agony. Marathon looks like a reality now. Only 3 weeks to go!
**********************************************
Once upon a time I made a bet that I would never ever run a marathon. After 6 November I will owe Benton $10 - if I can ever track him down.
When I started running 3 years ago my first goal was to run for 2 minutes! I'm now facing the ultimate challenge of 26.2 miles.
To make this all worthwhile I have chosen to run for WaterAid, a charity working at the grass routes of improving people's lives by providing clean, healthy drinking water. The projects are small, local and sustainable - providing a hand pump for a village, constructing hand-dug wells, and providing hygiene education. Having lived in a village last year where the villages wells were polluted and frequently ran dry I got to understand first hand just how important water is to achieve even the most basic quality of life.
So, please dig deep and help as much as you can by sponsoring me.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: WaterAid will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.

P.S. One of my running buddies is also running for charity. You can visit Rheda's page at www.justgiving.com/rheda
