My story

I was diagnosed at 27 with Colon Cancer and the experience has changed my life in many ways and for many reasons. I have re-prioritised everything and now love my life more than i could ever have imagined.

I now appreciate more, love more openly and worry less. I am more dynamic, energetic and generally at peace with my life than ever before. But i did have to go through the most challenging event of my life to get there. I consider it one of my greatest achievements but am clear on the fact that i could not have done it without support. And apart from my friends and family, Macmillan were my number one help and that is why i am so committed to focus my new found energy on raising money for them!

I am raising money not generally for the charity, but specifically the concept of the next person, just like me, who is diagnosed and needs that help. Just as someone must have raised money before I was diagnosed for me to be able to recieve that support.

If you donate £20 and never call on Macmillan, consider yourself fortunate and it will be the best £20 you ever spent.

If you donate £20 and at some point you, or someone you know gets diagnosed and Macmillan will be there to help you, again, it will be the best £20 you ever spent.

Many of us, especially in hard ecconomic times think we do not have enough to give to charity. If you have your health, then consider that there are people out there with much harder times to face, and £10 or £20 from you can make such a huge difference to someones life. Trust me, i've been there. The point of a great society is to help each other. Please be part of that.

So please dig deep and donate right now. All my love, Thom x
