Story
In less than two weeks, I will be running he Berlin Marathon on Sunday September 24. This will be #14 and special because, like two years ago in New York, there will be several dozen Spencer Stuart colleagues from around the world running for charity. All of us have been touched in different ways by cancer, but pancreatic cancer is the most lethal of all, with a 4.5 month median survival time and less than a 4% survival rate. The number of people dying from it has been rising for 40 years, there are more than 350,000 new cases diagnosed annually and it is already the fourth biggest cancer killer in many areas of the world. This is why we will be supporting Pancreatic Cancer UK, an organization leading the research effort and on whose board one of my London colleagues has sat since his mother died six weeks after she was diagnosed 15 years ago.
Two years ago when we ran the NYC Marathon, many of you were extremely supportive of Spencer Stuart’s effort, which included 40 colleagues from 22 offices raising over $165,000 for Team for Kids. It was one
of the largest fundraising efforts for the organization ever and we hope that we can say the same thing this year. Thank you!
