Thomas is cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats · 20 July 2015

The Great North Air Ambulance Service keeps families together by saving lives. We provide critical care to the people of the North East, North Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Isle of Man.

Story

Micheal Hall, Elliot Kay, David Beeby and myself, Thomas Jackson, will be cycling 1000 miles from Lands End to John O'Groats in support of the Great North Air Ambulance and Durham Amateur Rowing Club (DARC).

On the morning of Saturday 28th February, Bill Grant, an active member of DARC, suffered a medical episode resulting in him falling off his bike and into the river. With help from members of the public the ambulance crew began the medical procedures on the river bank, until the air ambulance arrived.

The air ambulance air lifted Bill to hospital within the hour of the incident. Unfortunately Bill passed away a short while later in hospital.

We are cycling to honour the hard work done by the Great North Air Ambulance and all those involved.

**Please note all donations will be split evenly between the Great North Air Ambulance and Durham Amateur Rowing Club**
