Stratford Triathlon 2018 · 29 April 2018 ·

Inspired by the lives of Dr Dominic Beer and Joseph Harris we fund raise to support community projects, raise awareness and facilitate research in order to promote improved mental health in two groups of people: adults suffering from Severe and Enduring Mental Illness and young adults

Story

In November 2017, a great friend and team mate, Joe Harris, tragically passed away whilst volunteering in South Africa. During two years of friendship he was always a source of positivity accompanied by a renowned infectious smile. As Jarris was both a patron of The Dominic Beer Memorial Trust, a fantastic charity established in honour of his uncle, and a Great British Under 20 triathlete, a team of his friends and family have decided to compete in the Stratford Triathlon in his memory.

I met Jarris in my first week at university at a mixed lacrosse taster session where, as captain, he invited me to play in the upcoming match. From there he brought me into the club, both socials and matches, and  became unofficially called, between the three of us, part of my 'Lacrosse Parents' along with his Vice Captain. At the time I had no idea how much my involvement with lacrosse would shape my experience at university and I owe all the fond memories I have to the man that brought me into the club.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Any donations would be massively appreciated and donated to The Dominic Beer Memorial Trust that supports those suffering with mental health. For more information about it please visit http://www.dominicbeermemorialtrust.com/
