3 peaks challenge · 19 October 2012

We aim to enable patients with life limiting conditions to live life as fully as possible and make the most of the time they have, as well as supporting their loved ones. It costs almost £4m a year to provide vital free care services and we rely heavily on the support from our community.

Story

As an extremely active and healthy bunch (with the exception of fish and chip fridays), the Wolverhampton Auction Rooms team had been searching for a physical challenge through which to raise funds for Cuttlestones' chosen charity Katherine House Hospice.

Inspired by Auctioneer, Dave Eglington, and his charity triathlon challenge (29/07/12), Ben, Tom and Libby decided that only a gruelling 24 hour climb involving three of the UK's highest mountains could match the herculean efforts of Mr Eglington.

And so... on the October weekend beginning the 19th, the Wolverhampton Auction Rooms team will begin by climbing Ben Nevis of Scotland before travelling down to the Pennines to scale Scafell Pike and, as the final leg of the 24 hour journey, cross over to Wales where Snowdon awaits!!!

While none of the particpents are seasoned climbers (or walkers for that matter), all three have been training hard in order to raise as much money as possible for Katherine House Hospice.

Katherine House Hospice undertake outstanding and neccessary work in the Staffordshire community by providing free palliative care to those in need. Millions of people of all ages throughout the UK suffer from a terminal illness or disease. It is thanks to the efforts of groups and charities such as Katherine House Hospice that many of these people can live out the remainder of their lives in as caring and comfortable environment as possible.

The Wolverhampton Auction Rooms team would like to thank everyone in advance for their support in helping to raise funds for this fantastic cause.
