Thank you for taking the time to visit our Emmaus Hampshire JustGiving page.

We Three Unwise Men (Alex Fitzgerald-Barron, Russ Bunnage and Simon Hickman) are taking part in the Marathon des Sables 2010 to raise money for Emmaus Hampshire (via this JustGiving site) and Wells For India (via http://www.justgiving.com/ThreeUnwiseMen-WellsForIndia).

The MdS is often referred to as The Toughest Footrace on Earth and involves running/walking some 150 miles in 6 days across the Sahara in Morocco. Competitors have to carry everything they will need for the duration (apart from a tent) on their backs in a rucksack (food, clothes, medical kit, sleeping bag, etc). Water is rationed and handed out at various checkpoints each day.

Although this is obviously a significant personal challenge for the three of us, of more importance is our aim of raising as much money as we can for our chosen charities, Wells for India and Emmaus Hampshire. Both charities are administratively based in Winchester and we are hoping that by offering you the choice of supporting either a local or an overseas charity, we will encourage many of you to sponsor us. You might even want to donate to both charities!

Costs that we incur by participating in the MdS are paid for personally by us - your sponsorship goes directly to the charities, not to us.

If you want to find out more about us, the event and the charities, please go to http://www.threeunwisemen.co.uk/

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
