I am participating in what many say is a dangerous event called The Clipper Race.  This is a round the world ocean yachting race in stripped down 70 foot racing yachts.  My part is to work hard in 4 hour shifts helping team mates to power one of the yachts (Team UNICEF) fast through the raging Southern Indian Ocean seas that may be 60 foot high - from Capetown to Fremantle in Western Australia. Leaving 17/11/2019 and hopefully arriving about 24 days later - thoroughly exhausted but alive! 

The training has been hard and professional - the sailing will be  shall we say  - tough, difficult, scary and exhilarating.  There are times when I am terrified of this challenge! 

I will be 71 during my race having just been diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome and I am told I should be resting at home with my feet up and a mug of coffee.

However I have decided to colour my life!
