For sometime now my daughter Charlotte has been planning a Skydive. She is the daredevil of the family. She was intending to do this with a friend. A couple of weeks back, Charlotte's friend backed out of their skydive.

Whether I am going through a mid life crisis or more likely the due to the number of glasses of red wine she gave me somehow I seem to have volunteered to do it with her. Bearing in mind I hate heights and Alton Towers would be my nightmare day out, you will see how much I am looking forward to it!

The skydive will take place on the 26th August 2010 at Hilbaldstow skydiving centre.just after Charlotte receives her GSCE results.

The dive is from 15,000 feet which I have calculated is around 3 miles up!

Clearly the true driver for us to do the dive is to raise money for our chosen charity

As I am a director at Gainsborough House Community Centre we have chosen them has our charity. 

Gainsborough House Community Centre is about local welfare agencies and specific interest groups working together in the spirit of partnership to provide a range of services to vulnerable and at-risk people. This is through the provision of day-care services, club and group sessional meetings and drop-in facilities.

Hopefully I will have time to say a few thank you's as I drift gently down from 15,000 feet and thank you in advance for your support.
