Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for Leuka.
In 2000, 5 nutters cycled from Geneva to Cannes in the South of France - 872 miles over the steepest mountains (cols) that the Tour de France offers - in order to raise money for Leuka, the charity arm of the Catherine Lewis Centre at the Hammersmith Hospital. One of those nutters was me !
The "Fireflies" was born, and since 2000 the "Fireflies" story has grown - over 200 riders (nutters) have completed the journey now, with over £800,000 having been raised for Leuka. The Fireflies family is growing.
This year we cycle from London to Cannes - I haven't dared work out the mileage yet ! And during 2010 I'll be doing other bits to raise more money for Leuka and the Catherine Lewis Centre to aid their struggle against leukaemia and to ease the suffering felt by so many. The Catherine Lewis Centre is instrumental in the international fight against leukaemia and is credited with pioneering work in finding a cure, whilst also caring for and offering advice to patients. Many, many people owe their lives to the amazing staff wonderfully led by the world renowned Professor Goldman.

Thank you so much for any donation you feel able to give. I can personally vouch for the effect it has in helping the Catherine Lewis Centre and its patients. We have seen at first hand the thanks and praise Professor Goldman and his team get from leukaemia sufferers, and the money the Fireflies has raised over the years has bought many bits of medical equipment to help continue the research into a cure for this horror of cancers.
We've got to break the £1m barrier this 10th anniversary year, so please do help us achieve this target. We genuinely appreciate any donation you're able to make.
