Hospiscare is a charity providing care for people with life limiting illness in Exeter, Mid and East Devon.  At any one time it is supporting around 600 people in their homes, in the Hospice and in Hospital.  The NHS provides about a quarter of the money needed but £3.5 million has to be raised this year alone to keep this vital work going.  I am lucky to have been working with this team over the last 6 years and seen the work they do. 

This one Mile Swim is one of many fund raising events through the area that enable the team at Hospiscare to carry out our work.   We rely absolutely on the generosity of local people.  I am not much of a swimmer- last time I swam was about 4 years ago until this summer when I decided to try and do this swim- I did manage 1 mile in the pool so I might just manage it...
