Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Yes, I'm running the Virgin London Marathon 2010!

My only previous London Marathon experience was back in 2007. Back then everything was fine up until 18 miles, then it seemed like I was running through treacle for the last 8 miles and I finally dragged myself over the line in just under 4 hours.

This time my training has gone incredibly badly, first of all my fitness levels were at an all time low when I started. At the beginning of October I could only manage 3 miles in a leisurely 30 mins. With injuries (particularly shin splints) my training has been severely hindered, but the good news is my fitness hasn't gone backwards, it is still taking me 30 mins to run 3 miles!!

Now, you see how much work there is to do in the final few weeks to try and ensure I get round before they re-open the roads to traffic!

I want to raise money for the Variety Club Children's Charity, and it will massively help my motivation to know that I'm raising money for a fantastic Charity.

The Variety Club Children's Charity has spent more than 50 years helping sick, disabled and disadvantaged children throuhout the UK have a better life.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thanks for support, please give whatever you can and look out for me on the 25th April, I'll be the one at the back!
