Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. The 9th/12th Royal Lancers, with whom I served, is currently deployed on operations in Afghanistan and has unfortunately already taken casualties, some of them people I know from having served with.  The Regimental Association is raising funds to provide long term care for those seriously injured, and support to their families.   Many of you know I enjoy spending time clambering about on, and occasionally falling off the side of, various mountains.  I am making another attempt this year to summit Mont Blanc, the highest peak in Western Europe at 4,810m so thought this caper would be a good opportunity to support members of the Regiment.  This is something I am doing anyway, so no money will be used to defray my expenses, it all goes to the Association.  I’d be grateful if you could donate whatever you can to support these soldiers, doing an outstanding job in extraordinarily arduous conditions, and their families.
