Tim and I first learnt about Enham when they were shortlisted on the Dulux 'Paint for Change' campaign. 'Paint for Change' was all about demonstrating to the British public just how positive an impact, both physical and emotional, a simple bit of paint could have on a community. Whilst each of the 10 community projects we visited were worthy in their own right, we were both moved by the work that Enham do, and as a result offered to run the London Marathon together to raise funds for their cause.
Enham's vision is to provide the best opportunities available for people with disabilities to secure employment or worthwhile occupation and to progress into the wider community. Enham is a Registered Charity based near Andover Hampshire that exists to give disabled people the opportunity to make choices in life and achieve their maximum potential.
The charity provides specialist housing and care to approximately 350 disabled people and delivers employment-orientated training and support programmes to a further 2000 people every year. The overriding emphasis is on progression, with an increasing number of people moving on to independent living and working in the community.
