My story
Tim tragically died over Christmas 2011, after a works night out. He was 28 and had everything to live for. He was a person who made such a lasting impression on everyone he met and was loved by so many.
Tim loved the great outdoors, his hero being Ray Mears and spent most of his spare time going on long walks with his growing family. Tim in particular loved the mountains, whether it be climbing up them or skiing down them. He loved the challenge and had great determination and would never be defeated. He would often stray from the path and find himself climbing a ravine to challenge him further, very few were mad enough to join him though.
Tim expressed an interest in joining the Glossop Mountain Rescue Team and always admired the volunteer’s hard work and dedication in helping walkers.
After the success of last years walk and in raising over £3000 for Glossop Mountain Rescue Team we are continuing to remember Tim's legacy by walking from Old Glossop to the top of Bleaklow which is roughly a 10 mile hike crossing a peaty terrain which will prove a tough challenge to most.
We hope the success of last year continues and would like to thank everyone in advance for participating and working hard to raise funds again for such a heroic cause!

Thank you to everyone who came, a brilliant day had by all. The weather gave us a real challenge and made it an unforgettable day! In what should have been Tim's 30th B'day tomorrow I hope you will all raise a glass to him wherever you may be x x
An amazing total of £3267.25 was raised in 2012! I have increased the target of the original £500 to £4000 for 2013, lets hope we smash this too!
A new year, a new challenge ... in Memory of Tim we are continuing to Hike and will be taking on the dark peak of Bleaklow on 27th April 2013! I hope the success of 2012 continues!

Glossop Mountain Rescue Team are a team of highly trained volunteers providing a search and rescue service to lost, injured and distressed people within the Peak District area of Kinder, Bleaklow and Black Hill. The Team is available 24/7 and rely 100% on donations, which are gratefully received.
