I have wanted to get involved in another charity event for some time now and I am very excited to say the right thing has come up, and in fact, is just round the corner....on 7th October.

Together with some colleagues and friends from work, I will be cycling 90 miles from Buckingham Palace down into the Surrey hills and then back up into Windsor, finishing on the racecourse.

Having done very little competitve sport this year and not having trained for anything meaty, this is not as easy an undertaking as you might think. Having said that, it is in support of a fabulous cause.

The Prince's Trust is a champion of young poeple, no matter what their background. Despite lives stifled by homelessness, being in care or being in trouble with the law, young people can succeed in anything given the right support. I saw this personally when in the army and supporting a local Prince's Trust group in North Yorkshire - the impact the programme had on them was profound and in many cases, completely changed their world around.
