The RBL are the UK's leading charity providing financial, social and emotional support to millions who have served and are currently serving in the British Armed Forces and their dependents.

Story

I have decided to raise money for the Royal British Legion by completing The Chemin de la Liberte (in English, the freedom trail or route). It takes four days and is equivalent to two marathons back to back. It involves climbing 4,570m (15,000ft) up and 3,350m down the French Pyrenees into Spain carrying a pack weighing approximately 35-40lb to include food, water and tent. It commemorates the route taken by escaping Airmen, French citizens wishing to join the Allied Armies and those attempting to escape the persecution of the Nazi regime which held France in its tyrannical grip during WWII.
