Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
On 25 April 2010, I will be running the London Marathon. This is going to be a huge challenge, and one that will involve training through the wet winter months, suffering blisters and shin splints, losing weight, etc etc (I must be mad!). I am taking on this mammoth challenge to raise money for the Meningitis Trust.
The Meningitis Trust offers support to families and individuals affected by meningitis. They help people practically, emotionally and financially. They educate communities about the symptoms of meningitis, saving lives through early detection.
Please lend your support by sponsoring me. Every penny counts and will be gratefully received. Here is what your money could do:
£10 - can pay for 500 symptoms cards that may help save a life through the early identification of the symptoms of meningitis
£15 - can help fund the Meningitis Trust freephone 24-hour nurse-led helpline for one hour
£30 - can pay for enough crayons, clay or other creative materials for a child or young person to use in six sessions of art therapy, to help them express themselves after a meningitis experience
£55 - can fund a session of specialist physiotherapy, to help with physical disabilities caused by meningitis (financial grants are not yet available in Republic of Ireland)
£160 - can pay for one day of our specially trained community nurses who provide much-needed help and support to meningitis sufferers and their families in their local communities
