Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can get the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters.

Story

This year I am taking part in 2 Race for Life 5K events- 28th June Race for Life "Pretty Muddy" 5K Obstacle course and 13th July Race for Life Ilkley 5K run. I am doing these 2 events as I am unable to attend the Leeds 10K that the team is running but I wanted to achieve 10K so I have chosen 2 events (as I am not a really good runner-but I try).

I am running in memory of my colleague "Mo" who sadly passed in February this year and also in memory of my school friend "Jayne" who passed ten years ago now aged 38.

I am training hard (or trying to depending on the speed of my training companion- my very slow dog "Holly") and I have also taken on boot-camp, metafit and Insanity work-out classes to boost my fitness!! This year I am determined to do both events on my own two feet- as I have in the past been known to complete a Race for Life in a wheelchair in a very speedy 31 minutes( thanks to my mate Becky- scariest experience ever with your foot in plaster!!!)

I want to raise funds to help support those suffering from cancer now and give them hope for the future and to raise funds for the charity that Mo had chosen to support.

I am  taking part in these events along with other friends&colleagues from St Mary's Menston. We are all training hard and encouraging each other every step of the way.

Please can you spare a small amount to contribute to my fund-raising. I am training hard this year with running, walking , bootcamp and Insanity workouts.

Please dig deep.
