I work on the Stroke Unit and have been an avid fundraiser for the Unit for the last 14 years. My aim is simple - to raise funds to help buy equipment that will enhance the care given to my patients.

This year, the Stroke Unit is looking to buy new specialist seating for our patients in order that patients can be got out of bed early following their stroke and properly supported whilst sitting out.

Each chair can cost in the region of £1,000 + and we have 26 beds on the Stroke Unit! Therefore as a team we are hoping to raise as much as we can so that as many chairs can be bought as possible.

This year, my colleagues and I are doing the Lake District 3000 footer challenge. This is climbing the 4 tallest peaks in the Lake District over 16 hours - a big challenge for me as I have never done hill walking like this before! I expect to be sore and achey at the end of it!!

Therefore, to make it worth my while I need you to sponsor me and give me that added incentive to climb those hills.
