It’s that time of the year again when the SEA LIFE joins forces with the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society (WDCS) for the WALK FOR WHALES 2010.

As some of you may be aware, there was an international ban on hunting whales in 1989, but whaling still occurs in certain countries like Japan and Iceland. These countries, among others, are hunting and killing up to 20,000 whales a year for meat, which shouldn’t even be sold commercially as whale meat has a high mercury content which is considered extremely toxic for a human to ingest!

The walk will take place outside SEA LIFE London Aquarium on the Southbank at 12.30pm, and will be led by an official London Blue Badge Guide for the 5-mile walk. Wish us all luck and most importantly make a donation...as I will be doing the ENTIRE walk dressed in our Shakey the Shark costume!!!
