Story
Yeah, I know. 234 miles in 3 days on a bike seems crazy, but it's far more so that 50,000 woman are diagnosed with breast cancer every year, and 12,000 die from the disease. when you realise how many people are effected by this devastating disease, you realise how much support Cancer charities like Breast Cancer Now need all the support and funding they can possibly have access too.
The money raised will go towards creating a cancer free world. The money will go to fund research into earlier diagnosis, prevention and cures for the disease. The end goal is to eradicate breast cancer, and all other forms of cancer as fast as we can.
So where do I come in? why are you on this page? Well I'm putting on some fetching lycra bib-shorts and getting on my bike in the centre of London on the 8th July, 2016. I will then, along with my Loughborough University team mates, cycle 73 miles through the South Downs to Portsmouth by about 7:30pm, to catch a ferry overnight to Caen where we will head off through Normandy to Evreux after an 87 mile thrash. The final day will take us into the centre of Paris, finishing exactly where Tour De France winners make history. The total ride distance is 234 miles.
My goal is to raise £1000 in aid of an amazing charity, for an amazing cause with a beautiful ambition. We will reach a cancer free world if we act, and work together. The donations made by you will go on to save precious lives, and the event will also serve as a tribute to those who we still hold close to our hearts, but didn't make it through the cruel fight cancer continues to present our loved ones, and many other with daily.
Thank you for your help and support, we will all need it over the 3 day ride! If you do decide to donate, please read the blurb below and be safe in the knowledge we are all doing this together.
Cheers,
Toby x
