Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Toby is running on the 19th October 2014 to help raise funds for the Paediatric Intensive Care unit.

Toby was born extremely prematurely at 24 weeks in 2011 weighing 550g sadly his twin sister Lauren passed away at 10 days old.  He was transferred to BCH for emergency bowel surgery at a week old suffering from NEC.  Without this operation he would not have survived. He was transferred back to the neonatal unit but returned to BCH just before his original due date for another operation to reverse his stoma and spent nearly 2 weeks on the PICU.  In March 2012 after a long stay at the women's neonatal unit He was transferred to BCH again to get help with gaining weight and was also baptised in the chapel. He finally got to come home for the 1st time in April 2012 after 6 1/2 months in hospital. He returned for a 3rd operation in July 2012

My family want to thank all the Staff at Birmingham Children's Hospital, in particular the staff on PICU,  Bernadette (surgical nurse), the staff on the neonatal surgical ward and of course Mr Jawaheer

Also thanks to all our friends and family who have supported us with fundraising
