Thank you for taking the time to log on to the page... The challenge - it's a really big one and extremely tough. I am attempting (with the trusty team) to climb the nine mountains in Scotland exceeding 4000 ft over a weekend in July. The challenge being 36,000 ft in 36 hours! You can see from the picture that this is not a walk in the park - tough terrain and difficult conditions, with peaks to conquer that include:
1. Ben Nevis - 4409 ft.
2. Ben Macdhui - 4295 ft.
3. Braeriach - 4252 ft.
4. Cairn Toul - 4236 ft.
5. Sgor an Lochain Uaine - 4127 ft.
6. Cairn Gorm - 4081 ft.
7. Aonach Beag - 4049 ft.
8. Aonach Mòr - 4006 ft.
9. Càrn Mòr Dearg - 4003 ft.
So to the very worthy cause - this year I am supporting LandAid, the property industry charity that supports young disadvantaged people.
LandAid's mission is to ensure that disadvantaged young people everywhere have access to the facilities, skills and support they need to achieve their potential. Over 75,000 young people are homeless in the UK; problems such as debt, the breakdown of relationships and domestic violence can all lead to someone having to leave home. In the last year LandAid has committed over £1m to create and staff new learning centres, where disadvantaged young people are learning the skills they need to live independent lives.
As well as undertaking this challenge for LandAid my company, Holtby Turner, has recently become a Foundation Partner with the charity. This means we will be making significant donations over the next three years, raising funds through events such as this and giving back through volunteering schemes.
You may wish to donate as an individual, or through your company - any donation is very gratefully received.
Thank you once again for your wonderful support - it really does make a difference.
With kind regards
Toby
