Welcome.

This is the charity part of my 40@40.  As you may or may not be aware I have asked 40 'friends' to each set me a challenge to complete within the year.

The only constraints were that:

- It cannot be illegal.
- It cannot result in me permanently changing my physical appearance.
- It cannot cost more than £100.

As a result of this I have been challenged to complete a Half Iron Man, to complete the 5 peaks within 48 hours and to organise a group of individuals and raise £1000 for the charity of my choice.  Which is why you are here.

I am combining these challenges to raise money for the Dave Thorne Bursary (Part of the Oxfordshire Outdoor Learning Trust).  I was lucky enough to know Dave as he was an instructor at the Outdoor Education Centre we take the school children to every year.  Dave died in a tragic accident in 2007 and in a fitting tribute to a man who loved the outdoors the Dave Throne Bursary was established to provide money that would enable less privileged children attend residential trips to enjoy the outdoor life.

The link will provide you with extra information.

This is a very important charity to me and I would be very grateful if you could spare any money to help me achieve my target.

It's almost impossible to say just how much the children benefit from these residential trips but having seen firsthand individuals overcoming fears, making new friends and growing in confidence I can guarantee you it is money well spent.

Thank you in advance.

Toby
