Story
On the 12th of May 2012, my 40th birthday, I will be walking all 37 and a half miles of the Downs Link footpath, from St Martha's on the Hill, just north of Chilworth near Guildford, where the footpath starts, all the way down to Shoreham By Sea in Sussex. All donations will go towards funding the Ashdown childrens respite centre, which provides valuable respite care for learning and physically disabled children, and which was burgled by ruthless thieves on Thursday the 8th of March 2012, making fundraising an even more pressing need! Extreme weather or injury notwithstanding, I will be walking this route, whether the weather be wet or dry, departing St Martha's on the Hill as early as possible, target departure time is 0830, any other masochists are welcome to join me en route, or meet me as I pass through the various towns and villages on my way southwards, they'll be as welcome as a nice big donation! CHALLENGE COMPLETED!!!! I could only record 36 miles via Endomondo see: http://www.endomondo.com/workouts/hJceqdxKUio my mobile battery was dying, so I stopped recording at this stage, only 1.5 miles from the finish, but I pushed on to the end regardless, this was as much a personal challenge as a charity challenge! And boy was I tired!!! A bit achy and tired today (13th May), pictures of the end of the walk to follow soon!
