Story
Toby's story
Almost 2 years ago I became poorly and was told by the doctors that I had Type 1 Diabetes. They explained to me that this is when your pancreas stops producing insulin. I had done nothing wrong it is just one of those things that happen to some people.
I have to check my blood throughout the day, which means I have to prick my finger with a small needle to see what my blood sugar levels are. I can do this up to 10 times in a day. I also have to have 5 injections throughout the day which I do in different parts of my body.
All my friends understand and everyone tells me that I cope really well and how mature and brave I am about it all.
Since I was small I have joined my family in fundraising events for TreeHouse School and asked my mum this year if we could fundraise for Diabetes. I am looking forward to walking for JDRF with a lot of my friends.
Thank you for supporting me.
Love Toby xx
