Tom's Dartmoor Challenge page

Dartmoor Challenge · 13 September 2014
I'm taking part in the Dartmoor Challenge, run by ShelterBox to raise money to support their work distributing vital aid to people whose lives have been ruined by disasters around the world. Right now ShelterBox are providing shelter and basic aid to thousands made homeless by natural disaster in The Philippines and war in Syria. I live a fairly comfortable life here in UK, and so this is a way of doing something to help those less fortunate.
The Dartmoor Challenge requires our team to carry a box full of aid across the unrelenting terrain of Dartmoor, for 45 miles, over two days. I'm taking part in the challenge with a team of former St. Bart's School students, with whom I did the Ten Tors Challenge, also on Dartmoor, many years ago. This is a reunion for us, and a chance to give something back by doing what we enjoy. Please visit our team page - the "Bart's Boot Bashers".
UPDATE - Thank you to everyone for the sponsorship so far! We made it in a grand total of 16h 29m. The ~30 miles the first day was a bit of a killer, and I think we're all now sporting blisters, but it was a great challenge and a lot of fun :).
