Thank you for visiting my Sheffield Half Marathon Just Giving page in support of the Sheffield Scanner.
On 8 April 2018 I’ll be taking part in the Run for All Sheffield Half Marathon as part of the University of Sheffield team. We’re raising funds for the University’s £2 million campaign to bring an MRI-PET scanning facility to Sheffield, the first of its kind in Yorkshire.
More information about the Sheffield Scanner can be found at www.sheffield.ac.uk/sheffieldscanner
I've joined the University's team to help support this amazing cause. The Scanner will be will be invaluable for many diseases, including:
- Alzheimer’s disease
- Cancer
- Epilepsy
- Diabetes
- Heart and lung diseases
- Infectious diseases
- Motor Neuron Disease (MND/ALS)
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Parkinson’s disease
- Stroke
We’ll be among thousands of runners who’ll descend on the city’s streets on 8 April. With a city centre start and finish, the Sheffield Half Marathon route will take us out of the city along Ecclesal Road, up the long hill beyond Hunter’s Bar, along Knowle Lane and Ringinglow Road up to the Norfolk Arms, just a few metres from the Peak District National Park, before turning left, flattening out and then descending back into Sheffield down the same stretch of Ecclesall Road towards the finish line back in the city centre.
