JTYAF's mission centres on providing opportunities and financial support to young people, particularly those who might otherwise be unable to pursue their ambitions due to financial barriers. We provide young people with the means to progress, develop and follow their dreams.

Story

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As part of Junior Leaders Course 18 I have been tasked to plan and undertake a fund raising challenge for the JTYAF and the RAF Air Cadets.

The John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation is a phenomenal charity with an amazing message. The charity was set up in the memory of John Thornton who lost his life in Afghanistan in 2008. The JTYAF supports young people from a wide range of youth organisations (including the RAF Air Cadets) by providing them with scholarships and bursaries to support their personal development and the pursuit of their ambitions. The charity also promote qualities such as; courage, determination, and cheerfulness in adversity through the work they do.

To support this brilliant cause, I chosen to ski the vertical distance of Everest (8848m) in under 12 hours. This challenge will see me skiing for upto 8 hours at La Plagne in France. The distance covered will be over a marathon in length.

Any donations will be much appreciated.
