ShelterBox work to ensure that vulnerable families around the world have life-saving emergency shelter, and other essential tools and aid items, after disaster strikes. Be it an earthquake, flood, conflict or hurricane, we are there for those most in need.

Story

I will be cycling from Bristol to Amsterdam on the 5th of September 2011. The journey is in aid of a chairty called ShelterBox, they are currently responding to the droughts in East Africa. You can see more about what they do on their website: http://www.shelterbox.org/. As i'm sure you will agree, it's a valuable cause.

There should hopefully be 5 of us going and we have estimated that it will take us around 6-10 days to cover the 460 miles.

As for the route; we have decided to cycle to Dover, crossing to Calais and then up through France and Belgium and in to The Netherlands, as opposed to cycling further North in England and crossing straight to The Netherlands. Hopefully reducing time cycling through our "lovely British summer".

I would be very appreciative of any donations small or large, as in my opinion its going to a really justified cause. Thanks for reading!
